Austin City Limits, or ACL, is a massive two-weekend music festival held every October in Austin, Texas. Of course, any time you have a significant event, you will need a considerable Lost and Found effort.
In 2022, the ACL producers, C3 Presents, chose to incorporate the Liff App into their Lost and Found process to improve the attendee experience and reduce the burden on staff.
If you’re looking for a lost item, check out the lost and found page.
Starting with Protect
A significant advantage of the Liff App, allows attendees to help protect themselves against loss instead of only being able to take action after it happens. By registering their devices with protect, they could add up to 3 friends to contact when lost and received a festival wallpaper to add as their lock screen.
Phone loss is such a frequent issue, and the concept was so popular that several news organizations wrote stories on it:
Lost and Found can be a frustrating experience beyond the apparent loss of an item. When there are a lot of people, a lot of stuff goes missing, and there is frequently only a tiny tent in place to help. A frequent occurrence in a loss experience can be a long line.
As items are turned in and logged, they are made available in real-time on the Austin City Limits Lost and Found Page, making it much easier for attendees to search for what they’re missing. The Liff App helped attendees skip the line and explore the found property. Once found and ownership verified, they could skip the line, present a QR Code, and return to the music with their treasured belongings.
