Find My iPhone & Find My Device are crucial tools to recovering a phone when it goes missing. There is a catch though. These services have to be on. 

Apple: Find My iPhone Set Up

  1. Open Settings
  2. Click on your name at the top
  3. Select iCloud
  4. Select Find My iPhone
  5. Click it on (if it isn’t already)
  6. Remember your Apple ID & Passcode (you’ll need that if it goes missing)

Android: Find My Device Set Up

  1. Open your device’s Settings app Settings app.
  2. Tap Security & location. (If you don’t see “Security & location,” tap Google and then Security.)
  3. Tap Find My Device.
  4. Make sure Find My Device is turned on.
